Abstract:
The present invention relates to a temperature-adaptive liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal dimming device applying same. The liquid crystal composition comprises a nematic liquid crystal composition, a negative-temperature-sensitive chiral composition and a bi-mesogenic composition. In the present application, a negative-temperature-sensitive chiral composition has a relatively large negative wavelength offset as the temperature rises, and in order to improve the stability thereof, a low-temperature-sensitive chiral compound can be further compounded for screw pitch adjustment, such that a selective reflection wavelength can be automatically adjusted to a required waveband range. By means of adding a bi-mesogenic composition with a low spiral distortion capability, elastic constant adjustment is performed to expand a wavelength offset, and finally, a liquid crystal dimming device has a relatively large negative wavelength offset and a relatively high reflectivity with respect to external light, thereby realizing adaptive adjustment of an indoor temperature.
