Abstract:
A terminal device (100) is mounted on a mobile object (20) and communicates with a communication device (10) external to the mobile object, the terminal device including: an antenna (200) on which a plurality of antenna elements are arranged in the travel direction of the mobile object; a region identification unit (104) that acquires propagation environment information of a radio wave propagation path of a signal transmitted/received between the mobile object and the external communication device, and that identifies a region which is defined by the propagation environment information and which is used for communicating by the antenna; an antenna element selection unit (105) that selects at least one of the antenna elements belonging to the region identified by the region identification unit; and a communication unit (106) that communicates with the external communication device by using the antenna element(s) selected by the antenna element selection unit.
