Abstract:
Disclosed is a theft tracking system for tracking one or more stolen fusion splicing devices among a plurality of fusion splicing devices each of which is capable of being wirelessly connected. This theft tracking system comprises: a registration acceptance unit that accepts registration of identification information for a stolen fusion splicing device; a communication unit that, on the basis of the received identification information, transmits to a plurality of information communication terminals a stolen item identifier consisting of a wireless access point identifier having been allocated to the stolen fusion splicing device in advance; an acquisition unit in each of the plurality of information communication terminals that acquires, in prescribed cycles, wireless access point identifiers in the vicinity of each information communication terminal; a determination unit that determines whether there is a wireless access point identifier among the acquired wireless access point identifiers that matches the stolen item identifier and, if it is determined that there is a wireless access point identifier matching the stolen item identifier, transmits the stolen item identifier together with location information for the relevant information communication terminal; and a reporting unit that reports the transmitted location information as location information for the stolen fusion splicing device.
