Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a technology capable of reducing power consumption when a high-density image is printed in a thermal printer. A recording sheet 5 contains a reversible thermochromic recording material that is initially put in a color developing state, starts color reduction at T1 or higher after increasing temperature, and is put in a decolorizing state at T2 or higher that is higher than T1. A thermal printer 1 is provided with: an input unit 6 that receives image data; an image processing unit 7 that converts density of the image data for each pixel into heating data on the basis of the characteristics of density and temperature in the reversible thermochromic recording material; and a printing processing unit 8 that causes a thermal head 3 to heat the recording sheet 5 for each pixel on the basis of the heating data to form an image on the recording sheet 5.
