Abstract:
Provided is a thermal printer that contactlessly senses the state of an ink sheet. In a thermal printer according to the present disclosure, a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit of at least one optical sensor are provided such that the light receiving unit receives signal light that has been emitted by the light emitting unit and has passed through the ink sheet.
