Abstract:
This thermoelectric conversion device is provided with a first thermoelectric conversion module, a first insulating layer, and a second thermoelectric conversion module. The first (second) thermoelectric conversion module is provided with one or more thermoelectric conversion elements, a first (third) connection electrode, and a second (fourth) connection electrode. The thermoelectric conversion elements of the first (second) thermoelectric conversion module are electrically connected to the first (third) connection electrode and the second (fourth) connection electrode and are positioned on a route electrically connecting both connection electrodes. Each of the thermoelectric conversion elements is provided with a thermoelectric conversion unit. The thermoelectric conversion unit of at least one thermoelectric conversion element is provided with a phononic crystal layer having a phononic crystal structure that is equipped with a plurality of through holes arranged in a regular manner. The direction in which the plurality of through holes pass through the crystal structure is approximately parallel to the layering direction of the first thermoelectric conversion module, the first insulating layer, and the second thermoelectric conversion module.
