Abstract:
A thermoelectric conversion element (100) according to the present invention is provided with: a first electrode (105) that is joined to, at one side thereof, a first surface (101a) of an n-type semiconductor via an n-side joining layer (102) and that is joined to, at the other side thereof, a first surface (103a) of a p-type semiconductor via a p-side joining layer (104); and a second electrode (106) that is joined to a second surface (101b) of the n-type semiconductor and a second surface (103b) of the p-type semiconductor via the n-side joining layer (102) and the p-side joining layer (104), respectively, wherein the n-type semiconductor (101) and the p-type semiconductor (103) have the compositions represented by formula (1) and formula (2), respectively, and the n-side joining layer (102) and the p-side joining layer (104) both contain Al. Formula (1): Mg2SiaSn1-a+A Formula (2): MgmSixSnyGez+B
