Title:
THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA ENCODING METHOD, THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA DECODING METHOD, THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA ENCODING DEVICE, AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL DATA DECODING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/196680
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A three-dimensional data encoding method: encodes positional information of each of a plurality of three-dimensional points on the basis of either one of a first positional information encoding method that encodes by using octree division or a second positional information encoding method that encodes without using octree division (S8021); and generates a bitstream including the positional information thus encoded of each of the plurality of three-dimensional points and a positional information flag indicating whether the encoding was based on the first positional information encoding method or the second positional information encoding method (S8023 or S8024), in which, in the generation of the bitstream (S8023 or S8024), in the case in which the encoding was based on the first positional information encoding method, a bitstream including a parameter set used for octree division is generated (S8023), and in the case in which the encoding was based on the second positional information encoding method, a bitstream not including the parameter set used for octree division is generated (S8024).
