Abstract:

In this timepiece, in order for the state of rising and setting of the sun to be represented intuitively using a general purpose movement rather than a dedicated movement, a wristwatch (1) (one example of a timepiece) is provided with: a small dial plate (20) (one example of a dial plate) displaying a sun mark (22) for displaying the state of the rising and setting of the sun; and a rotating plate (30) (one example of a rotating member) which covers the small dial plate (20) and rotates with a 24-hour period, and which has a sunrise/sunset indicating portion which causes the state of visibility of the sun mark (22) to change in accordance with the rotational position thereof. A plurality of numbers (21) (one example of an index) for displaying the time are displayed on either the small dial plate (20) or the rotating plate (30), and a time indicating portion which, in accordance with the rotational position of the small dial plate (20), indicates the number (21) corresponding to the time is formed in the other of the small dial plate (20) and the rotating plate (30). The time indicating portion and the sunrise/sunset indicating portion are disposed with a positional relationship such that the state of visibility of the sun mark (22) due to the sunrise/sunset indicating portion is the state of rising and setting of the sun at the time corresponding to the number (21) indicated by the time indicating portion.
