Abstract:
Provided is a tip dresser (10) capable of smoothly discharging chips by a breaker (60) provided in a cutter (40). A tip dresser is provided with a cutter (40) which has cutting blades for cutting the forward ends of a pair of electrode tips and a mounting hole, a holder (20) to which the cutter is mounted by a mounting screw (55) that is inserted through the mounting hole, and a rotary drive part which rotatably holds the holder. A breaker (60) for discharging chips is disposed on the front-side surface of the cutter. The breaker has a plate shape having an insertion hole (62), through which the mounting screw is inserted, so as to be fastened together with the cutter by the mounting screw. The breaker is provided with an inclined guide surface (65) that is disposed around a mounting substrate portion extending approximately flatly from the peripheral edge of the insertion hole so as to be elevated from a flat portion near the cutting blade while being inclined from the flat portion and guides the chips generated from the site of the cutting blade away from the front-side surface.
