Abstract:
In this tire air pressure detection device, a receiver (3) functions according to power supplied from a battery (8) such that when an ignition switch (IG) (9) is on, power for allowing reception of frames by a radio wave reception unit (32) is generated by a power supply control unit (33) so as to set the power supply state of the receiver to one in which frame reception is possible to detect the air pressure of a tire, and such that when the IG is off, in each predetermined intermittent cycle (T3) power for allowing reception of frames by the radio wave reception unit (32) is generated by the power supply control unit (33) so as to set the power supply state of the receiver to one in which frame reception is possible to detect the air pressure of the tire. A transmitter (2a-2d) determines whether or not there is a drop in tire air pressure on the basis of a detection signal from a sensing unit (21), and when there is a drop in tire air pressure, the transmitter transmits frames more frequently than before the occurrence of the drop in tire air pressure at a shorter frame transmission interval (T5) than a normal transmission cycle during a high-frequency transmission period (T4) that is set to be greater than or equal to the intermittent cycle.
