Abstract:
This tire load estimation device comprises: acceleration sensors 11 disposed respectively on tires; a vehicle total weight calculation means 12; an acceleration waveform extraction means 13 that detects a tire radial direction acceleration waveform from an output of the acceleration sensors 11; a differential acceleration waveform computation means 14 that finds a differential acceleration waveform of the acceleration waveforms; a peak position detection means 15 that detects the peak positions on a step-in end side and a kick-out end side of the differential acceleration waveform; a ground contact time ratio computation means 16 that computes a ground contact time and a rotation time from the peak positions and calculates a ground contact time ratio which is the ratio of the contact time and the rotation time; and a load estimation means 17 that estimates a load acting on each tire from the ground contact time ratio of the tire, a maximum load capacity of the tire, the vehicle total weight, and an inclination obtained by approximating, with a linear function of the ground contact time ratio, a maximum load capacity ratio, which is a value obtained in advance by normalizing a load with the maximum load capacity.
