Abstract:
A first electrode section (34A) and a second electrode section (34B) are provided on a sensor electrode (28) of a touch detection device (26); the first electrode section (34A) and the second electrode section (34B) are arranged in a section other than a designated section (12A) and in the designated section (12A), respectively, of a steering wheel (12). The surface area ratio of a conductive part is made to be higher for the second electrode section (34B) than for the first electrode section (34A). This allows the sensor electrode (28) to have a greater capacitance when a pinch operation is performed in the designated section (12A) of the steering wheel (12) than when a pinch operation is performed in a section other than the designated section (12A), making it possible to detect the gripping of the steering wheel (12) and a pinch operation in the designated section (12A).
