Abstract:
Provided are a toy allowing for improved expressiveness of an image displayed on an image display mechanism, and a method for manufacturing a toy. A method for manufacturing a toy 1 that is manufactured by arranging lights 7 on a back surface 6a of a liquid crystal panel 6, connecting an image processing unit 8, which transmits image signals to the liquid crystal panel 6, to the liquid crystal panel 6, and incorporating, into a housing 2, an image processing mechanism 3 including the liquid crystal panel 6, the lights 7, and the image processing unit 8, said method including: configuring a display unit 12 by binding in parallel a plurality of optical fibers into a bundle to form a fiber bundle, and forming a flat rear end surface 12a on the rear end of the fiber bundle in the axial direction thereof and forming a curved front end surface 12b on the front end of the fiber bundle in the axial direction thereof; and disposing the rear end surface 12a of the display unit 12 on a front surface 6b of the liquid crystal panel 6.
