Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a time synchronization mechanism such that the effects of link asymmetry between time synchronization devices is reduced. [Solution] A second transmission device 2 comprises: a transmission unit 16 that simultaneously transmits delay calculation packets of a plurality of wavelengths to a counterpart time transmission device; and a reception unit 17 that determines the propagation delay Dms from the counterpart time transmission device to the host device on the basis of the differences in the arrival times of the delay calculation packets of the plurality of wavelengths received from the counterpart time transmission device, receives notification of the propagation delay Dsm from the local device to the counterpart time transmission device as determined by the counterpart time transmission device, and determines a propagation delay Dmax greater than the propagation delay Dms and the propagation delay Dsm. The reception unit generates a wait delay Wms from the propagation delay Dms to the propagation delay Dmax for the received PTP packets, and then transmits the PTP packets to a slave node 4.
