Abstract:
This treatment system 1 is provided with: a treatment tool 2 having an ultrasonic transducer 23 which generates ultrasonic vibration in response to a supplied drive signal, and an end effector 22 which treats biological tissue by applying the ultrasonic vibration thereto; and a control device 3 having an ultrasonic power supply 31 which outputs a drive signal to the ultrasonic transducer 23, and a processor 36 which controls operation of the ultrasonic power supply 31. The processor 36 determines whether or not an abnormality has occurred in the end effector 22 and determines whether or not the end effector 22 is immersed in liquid; when the ultrasonic power supply 31 is outputting a drive signal to the ultrasonic transducer 23, if it is determined that an abnormality has occurred in the end effector 22 and the end effector 22 is immersed in liquid, then the processor 36 continues outputting the drive signal from the ultrasonic power supply 31 to the ultrasonic transducer 23.
