Abstract:

This two-dimensional map data generating device generates two-dimensional map data obtained by projecting an object represented by three-dimensional data with attribute information from a fixed direction onto a projection plane represented by a two-dimensional plane. To this end, the two-dimensional map data generating device generates a projection plane onto which passable objects are projected, and if the height between the projection plane and a second passable object overlapping a first passable object in the fixed direction exceeds a height threshold, generates an auxiliary projection plane parallel to the projection plane at the height of the first passable object, projects the first passable object having a height equal to or less than the height threshold onto the projection plane, and projects the first passable object having a height that exceeds the height threshold onto the auxiliary projection plane, to generate the two-dimensional map data.
