Abstract:

The present application provides a user equipment (UE) capability reporting method and apparatus for improving the success rate of UE rollback configuration to a CA mode and the transmission bandwidth of a UE. The UE can report a second band combination supported under a first RAT and a second multi-system band combination supported under a second RAT according to received first capability enquiry request information, second capability enquiry request information, and a multi-system request condition, wherein the second multi-system band combination is used for configuring the UE to a multi-system multi-connection mode of the first RAT and the second RAT, and the second multi-system band combination satisfies the multi-system request condition. According to the method, in the process of reporting the second band combination, the UE preferentially reports a first CA band combination that satisfies the multi-system request condition, which facilitates increasing the possibility of reporting the second multi-system band combination in the CA band combination of the first RAT, thereby facilitating increasing the possibility of UE fallback configuration from the multi-system multi-connection mode to the CA mode.
