Abstract:

Disclosed are a UE capability reporting method and apparatus, which relate to the technical field of communications, and solve the problem of UE capability information acquired by a target access network device being incomplete when a UE is switched from a source access network device to the target access network device. The specific solution involves: a UE acquiring first information, wherein the first information is used for indicating a UE capability supported by a target access network device; and the UE reporting second information according to the UE capability supported by the target access network device and a UE capability of the UE, wherein the second information comprises capability information, other than UE capability information stored in a source access network device, in target capability information, and the target capability information is UE capability information of the lower UE capability among the UE capability of the UE and the UE capability supported by the target access network device. The solution of the present application can be widely applied to the technical field of communications and the fields of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Vehicles, smart home networking, etc.
