Abstract:
An ultra-low-temperature freezer 10 can execute a normal operation and a cool-down operation prior to the normal operation. The ultra-low-temperature freezer 10 comprises: an expansion machine motor 42 that causes an expansion machine 14 of the ultra-low-temperature freezer 10 to operate; an inverter 90 that is configured so as to control the operating frequency of the expansion machine motor 42, and that can operate so as to drive the expansion machine motor 42 at an operating frequency lower than the operating frequency for the cool-down operation during the normal operation; a current sensor 50 that measures the current supplied from the inverter 90 to the expansion machine motor 42, and that outputs a motor current signal indicating the current; and a processing unit 100 that monitors the expansion machine motor 42 on the basis of the motor current signal at least during the normal operation.
