Abstract:

An ultrasonic irradiation apparatus for irradiating an object having a three-dimensional curved surface easily with ultrasonic wave over a wide range thereof. An ultrasonic irradiator comprises a plurality of ultrasonic oscillators arranged planarly such that the positions of at least a part of the ultrasonic oscillators can be interchanged three-dimensionally. The ultrasonic irradiator has a plurality of ultrasonic oscillators fixed to the surface of a flexible and/or stretching sheet-like material or to a flexible and/or stretching mesh-like material. The ultrasonic irradiator has the plurality of ultrasonic oscillators formed of drive electrodes and counter electrodes provided, respectively, on one and the other surfaces of a sheet-like flexible piezoelectric. The ultrasonic irradiator is fixed to the surface of a flexible planar bag-like body for containing an ultrasonic wave transmission medium, i.e. a fluid, or arranged in the planar bag-like body. Means for moving or inclining the ultrasonic irradiator with respect to the object is also provided. The ultrasonic irradiator has a stripe body being fixed to the object.
