Abstract:
This unattended object detection device, for detecting objects left unattended within a monitored region, is provided with: an acquisition unit which, from an imaging device for imaging the monitored region, acquires an image of the region, a processing unit which, when an object that has not moved for a fixed period of time has been detected from images acquired by the acquisition unit, starts a timer for measuring time from detection of the object, determines whether or not the person who was holding the object matches a person contained in the images acquired by the acquisition unit, and stops the timer if there is a match and does not stop the timer if there is no match; and an output unit which performs output in accordance with the results of the processing unit. The processing unit determines whether or not the timer has exceeded a prescribed time, and the output unit outputs that there is an unattended object if the timer is determined by the processing unit to have exceeded the prescribed amount of time.
