Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to rule out an unattended object requiring no alert from the objective of alerting. [Solution] This unattended object monitoring device 3 is for detecting an object left unattended within a monitored area on the basis of images captured of the monitored area by an imaging device, and for issuing an alert in the case when such an unattended object has been detected, the device being provided with a processor that performs processing for detection of an unattended object, the processor being configured to: detect, from the captured images, objects that have emerged within the monitored area; keep track of each of the detected objects among the captured images; detect an object that is not displaced in excess of a predetermined duration of time as an unattended object on the basis of the tracking result on each of the detected objects; determine whether or not the detected unattended object is present within a mask area that is set up inside the monitored area in advance; and rule out the unattended object from the objective of alerting in the case when the detected unattended object is determined to be present within the mask area.
