Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are an underwater acoustic positioning and timing buoy, and a working method thereof, which belong to the technical field of underwater acoustic positioning, and solve the deficiencies of an existing sea level buoy-based underwater acoustic positioning method of introducing a systematic observation error due to the lack of posture information of a buoy, and limiting further improvements in system positioning, timing precision and reliability due to the usage of an SPP algorithm. The underwater acoustic positioning and timing buoy comprises a GNSS receiver, an IMU, a USBL device, a satellite communicator, an underwater acoustic communication device, a battery and a controller; the GNSS receiver is configured to acquire the coordinates of the buoy in an earth-fixed coordinate system and posture information of the buoy; the IMU provides angular velocity and acceleration information of the buoy, and continuously calculates, by means of an IMU algorithm and according to a group of initial position, speed and attitude information, the position, speed and attitude at any subsequent time with additional errors; and the USBL device transmits a signal and receives a return signal of an underwater carrier transducer, so as to calculate a round trip propagation time between the USBL device and the underwater carrier transducer and a relative propagation time of the signal between array elements.
