Abstract:
Provided are a UV-transmitting glass having a high UV transmittance and good mechanical strength, and a UV irradiation device and UV sterilization device using the UV-transmitting glass. The UV-transmitting glass is a glass body having a surface compressive stress layer of 3-50 μm from the surface in the depth direction, wherein the glass body has a transmittance of 70% or more with respect to a wavelength of 254 nm as measured by a spectral transmittance measurement with a thickness of 0.5 mm. The UV irradiation device uses the UV-transmitting glass, and the sterilization device 10 uses the UV-transmitting glass 12.
