Abstract:
The invention relates to a vacuum interrupter, comprising a switching space (4) and a contact system (6) arranged therein, the contact system comprising a first contact (8) and a second contact (10), which are arranged along a switching axis (12), the two contacts (8, 10) comprising respective switching pieces (14) having respective switching surfaces (16). The invention is characterized in that at least one contact (8, 10) has at least one shield element (20) for blocking primary metal vapor (18) and the shield element (20) radially extends around the contact system (6) in the region of the switching piece (14) in such a way that the shield element projects beyond the switching surface (16) by at least 20% of the distance (22) from the switching axis (12) to an outer edge (24) of the switching surface.
