Abstract:
A valve (100) for connecting an external tank to an aircraft, the valve comprises a valve body (112); and a seal assembly arranged, in use, to resiliently engage a seal surface on an aircraft. The seal assembly comprises a telescopic seal member (114) extending from a proximal end within the valve body (112) to a distal end. The telescopic seal member (114) is constrained within the valve body (112) so as to maintain axial alignment of the telescopic seal member and the valve body. The seal assembly further comprises a seal carrier (525) provided at the distal end of the telescopic seal member (114). The seal carrier (525) is pivotable relative to the telescopic seal (114) member for alignment, in use, with the aircraft seal surface.
