The present invention relates to a pump including a rotating cylinder and employing the principle of a vane type pump among rotary pumps, characterized in that vane abrasion is minimized, which contributes to a significant improvement in durability. To achieve this, the present invention provides a vane type pump including a rotating cylinder, the pump comprising: a cylindrical housing having a suction port and a discharge port for a fluid; a rotating cylinder rotatably supported in the housing by a bearing; a cylindrical rotor rotated in the rotating cylinder while being disposed eccentrically from the central axis of the rotating cylinder; a driving unit for rotating the rotor; vane slots radially disposed at two or more positions along the circumferential direction of the rotor; plate-shaped vanes, each of which is fitted in each of the vane slots so as to protrude from or be inserted into the vane slot in a sliding manner; a rotating cylinder driving unit for rotating the rotating cylinder together with the vanes; and side plates coupled to both sides of the housing, each of the side plates having a suction port and a discharge port.
