Abstract:
This variable phase multiplier (1) is configured so as to comprise: a 90° distributor (12) that distributes an input signal into an I signal and a Q signal; an amplitude setting circuit (13) that divides each of the I signal and the Q signal into two, sets, according to the phase shift amount of the input signal, the amplitude of two of the four signals derived from the two I signals divided into two and the two Q signals divided into two, and outputs as set signals four signals including the amplitude-set signals; a first mixer (17) that multiplies together one I signal among the two I signals included in the set signals and one Q signal among the two Q signals included in the set signals to generate a first signal having a frequency that is twice the frequency of the input signal; a second mixer (18) that multiplies together the other I signal among the two I signals included in the set signals and the other Q signal among the two Q signals included in the set signals to generate a second signal for which the ratio of the amplitude with regard to the first signal is the tangent of the phase shift amount or the reciprocal of the tangent, and that has a frequency that is twice the frequency of the input signal; and a 90° synthesizer (19) that adds a 90° phase difference between the first signal and the second signal, and synthesizes the first signal, which has a 90° phase difference with the second signal, and the second signal.
