Abstract:
A vehicle control device 10 is provided with: a driving force calculation unit 10B for calculating a driving force required for the travel of a train; an operating number calculation unit 10C for determining an operating number of motor cars (M-cars) on the basis of the driving force; and a driving force command calculation unit 10D for calculating a driving force command to be provided to the operating M-cars in accordance with the operating number. When the operating number is changed, the driving force command calculation unit 10D continuously changes the driving force command.
