Abstract:
The vehicle control device is provided with a depression amount detection unit, a depression speed detection unit, a reaction force setting unit, and a reaction force generation unit. The reaction force setting unit sets separate reaction force values according to advancement characteristics and return characteristics. For the portions of the main advancement characteristics excluding the depression start and depression end regions, the reaction force setting unit sets the value of the reaction force for the depression amount such that until a predetermined ratio relative to the maximum depression amount of an accelerator pedal is reached, the degree of increase in the reaction force value becomes relatively smaller the more the depression amount increases, and after the predetermined ratio is reached, the degree of increase in the reaction force value becomes relatively larger the more the depression amount increases. For the return characteristics, the reaction force setting unit sets the value of the reaction force such that the value of the reaction force decreases the more the depression amount decreases.
