Abstract:
Disclosed are a vehicle control system for preventing the accelerator pedal from being depressed by mistake and a control method therefor. When the vehicle speed information is equal to or lower than 15 km/h and the accelerator pedal is depressed 2/3 or more than 2/3, an ECU determines that it is an illegal command, and no longer issues any operational commands to an electronic throttle, injectors, and igniters or a electrical drive assembly while sending a signal to a warning system to alert the driver to make corrections rapidly. Detection of obstacles in front of the vehicle does not need the assistance of apparatuses such as a camera, a radar, an ultrasonic rangefinder and infrared equipment, nor is other additional hardware required. Whether or not the driver depresses the pedal by mistake can be determined simply by detecting the vehicle speed information and the accelerator pedal information by existing apparatuses, and the method of determination is simple and cost saving. In addition, the use of 15 km/h as an indicator is more appropriate to the actual driving situation, effectively avoiding misjudgement of the situation and greatly improving the accuracy of vehicle control for preventing depressing by mistake.
