Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle interior component that is provided with suitable rigidity for the mitigation of shock from side impacts. A vehicle interior member that comprises: a door panel; door trim that is installed on the door panel; and a box-shaped protector (2) that is arranged between the door panel and the door trim and is installed on one of the door panel and the door trim. An outer wall (2e) of the protector (2) that faces the other of the door panel and the door trim has formed therein an outer wall groove (2h) that extends in a vehicle front-rear direction. The vehicle-front-side vertical length of at least one of an upper facing surface (2f) and a lower facing surface (2g) of the outer wall (2e) that are vertically partitioned by the outer wall groove (2h) is longer than the vehicle-rear-side vertical length thereof.
