Abstract:
At a time of notifying an existence of a close moving body, for the purpose of suppressing an excessive notification, a close moving body detection unit (5), a relative speed detection unit (5b), and an alarm output determination unit (5d) are provided. The close moving body detection unit (5) detects, on the basis of outputs from a periphery monitoring camera unit (1) for acquiring a lateral posterior image of an own vehicle and a sensor unit (2) for detecting the close moving body, the close moving body which exists within a predetermined range from a lateral and posterior area of the own vehicle. The relative speed detection unit (5b) detects a relative speed of the own vehicle to the close moving body. In the case where the close moving body is detected, and the own vehicle is trying to change lanes, when the relative speed detected by the relative speed detection unit (5b) exceeds a reference relative speed at which lanes can be changed, the alarm output determination unit (5d) causes an alarm output unit (6) to generate an alarm.
