Abstract:

Provided are a vehicle wherein the slip of the belt of the stepless transmission can be suppressed timely, and a method for controlling the vehicle. A control unit (40) included in a vehicle is provided with: a state information obtaining unit (46) which obtains information for representing the state of a torque buffer mechanism provided in a torque transmission path between a second pulley of the stepless transmission and the drive wheels; and a clamping force change processing unit (42i) which, on the basis of the state of the torque buffer mechanism, changes the clamping force of a first pulley of the stepless transmission and the clamping force of the second pulley thereof.
