Abstract:
This vehicle-mounted updating device is provided with a storage unit and a control unit, and acquires an updating program transmitted from an external server outside a vehicle, and updates a program in a vehicle-mounted control device, wherein: the storage unit stores the updating program; the control unit controls transmission of the updating program to the vehicle-mounted control device to be updated; and when acquiring the updating program from the external server, the control unit transmits saved data stored in the storage unit to the external server or to a vehicle-mounted control device that is not to be updated, other than the vehicle-mounted control device to be updated, on the basis of the data type of the saved data, and stores at least a portion of the updating program acquired from the external server in an area of the storage unit in which the saved data that have been transmitted were saved.
