Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle risk avoidance device, wherein the condition of a road surface, such as road surface μ and road surface type, are detected by a tire mounted sensor (1), and the road surface data indicating the detection result is transmitted to a communication center (200). More accurate road surface data is then collected in the communication center (200) so that a vehicle receives even more accurate road surface data from the communication center (200). On the basis of the received more accurate road surface data, a determination regarding risk to the vehicle is made. By detecting the condition of a road surface using the tire mounted sensor (1) in this manner, it is possible to detect the road surface condition without applying the brakes. Consequently, the road surface condition can be more frequently detected, thereby enabling more extensive detection of the road surface condition, and more appropriate risk avoidance control based on the road surface condition during travel.
