Abstract:
This vertical form–fill–seal pouch packaging machine (1) is provided with: a top-folding unit (20) that folds a side section of a strip-shaped film (F) into a Z shape to create a first fold (F1); a bottom-folding unit (30) that folds the middle of the film (F) into an M shape to create a second fold (F5); a top-sealing unit (40) that heat-seals side edge sections (E1, E2) of the film (F) and the first fold (F1) to render the film (F) into a tube, and also forms a top gusset (G3) and a spout (G7) jutting from the top gusset (G3); and a bottom-sealing unit (50) that heat-seals the second fold (F5) to create a bottom gusset (G4).
