Abstract:
[Problem] To achieve a reduction in fuel consumption without impairing the operational safety of a vessel. [Solution] A vessel (10) that obtains a propelling force by driving a main propeller (11) using a main engine (12) is provided with an additional propeller (20) and a driving means therefor. The additional propeller (20) is disposed on the bottom of the vessel or a rising part from the bottom and at a position different from the position where the main propeller (11) is disposed, output of the driving means for the additional propeller (20) is 25% or less of output of a driving means of the main engine, and a normal operating state in which the propelling force is obtained by driving the main propeller (11) or an operating state in which the propelling force is obtained by driving the additional propeller (20) can be selected.
