Abstract:
Provided is a vibration control device which is capable of causing a vibration body to vibrate at high speed and in long stokes, in an arbitrary direction in a plane. This vibration control device (10) is provided with: a vibration body (16); a restoring force mechanism (20); a vertical direction slide mechanism (22); a primary coil body (26) which is provided below the vibration body (16), and which serves as a first member; a secondary conductor (28) which serves as a second member; a holding mechanism (24) which maintains the gap between the primary coil body (26) and the secondary conductor (28) within a fixed interval range; a vibration detection unit (30) which detects vibration of an upper structure (12) relative to a lower structure (14) in a direction in the XY plane; and a control unit (32) for controlling an induction-type linear motor. On the basis of the vibration in a direction in the XY plane detected by the vibration detection unit (30), the control unit (32) passes a current through a conductor wire (34) to cause the primary coil body (26) to vibrate relative to the secondary conductor (28) in a direction which cancels out the vibration.
