Abstract:
Provided is a vibration damping device that allows the spring constant to be reduced. A vibration damping device comprises a first mounting member (10) that is connected to one of a vibration generating unit and a vibration receiving unit, a second mounting member (20) that is connected to the other of the vibration generating unit and the vibration receiving unit, and an elastic body (30) that is disposed between the first mounting member (10) and the second mounting member (20). A first recess (13) is formed in the first mounting member (10), and one end (31) of the elastic body (30) is accommodated in the first recess (13). A second recess (23) is formed in the second mounting member (20), and the other end (32) of the elastic body (30) is accommodated in the second recess (23). A depression (25) that forms a space (S1) with the elastic body (30) is formed in at least one of the first recess (13) and the second recess (23).
