Abstract:
An HUD as this virtual display device is provided with an illumination light source, an image element, and a Fresnel lens array (41) disposed on a light path between the illumination light source and the image element and having an array structure (240) in which a plurality of Fresnel lens units (244) are arranged. In the respective Fresnel lens units (244), a plurality of divided lens surfaces (245) having a common curved shape are dividedly formed in individual regions (IA). The array structure (240) includes, as the Fresnel lens units (244), a plurality of eccentric Fresnel lens units (244E) in which the centers of curvature of the divided lens surfaces (245E) are each eccentric to a common side out of the whole reference axis (AX1) side and the opposite side thereto with respect to an individual region central axis (AX2). The eccentric Fresnel lens units (244E) each have an eccentricity amount (EA) of the center of curvature that gradually increases as the axis-to-axis distance (AD) between the individual region central axis (AX2) and the whole reference axis (AX1) increases.
