A voice interaction method for an electronic device and the electronic device. The voice interaction method comprises: receiving a voice from a user, and parsing the voice into a semantic instruction (S100); on the basis of the semantic instruction, determining an instruction execution subject corresponding to the semantic instruction, wherein the instruction execution subject is any one of an operating system of the electronic device (100), an application in the electronic device (100), and a voice user interface component associated with the application in the electronic device (100) (S200); and the instruction execution subject corresponding to the semantic instruction executing an action based on the semantic instruction (S300). In this way, in the voice interaction process of a user and the electronic device (100), voice control of the user over the operating system of the electronic device (100), applications in the electronic device (100) and user interface components associated with the applications can be realized, greatly expanding the use range of voice interaction, achieving deeper and more comprehensive voice interaction, and effectively improving user experience.
