Abstract:
The present invention provides a washing machine and a control method thereof. The washing machine comprises an inner drum and a water collection device. A drainage hole is formed at the bottom of the inner drum. In a washing process, no water exists between the inner drum and the water collection device. In a drainage process and a dewatering process, water in the inner drum enters the water collection device and is discharged by same. The washing machine further comprises a drainage device used for realizing drainage of the inner drum, and a water level detection device used for detecting a water level in the water collection device. The drainage device comprises a sealing mechanism and a locking mechanism. The sealing mechanism comprises a blocking component and a driving component. The blocking component is mounted on a drainage port to keep same normally closed. The driving component has an output end performing a reciprocating motion in a direction parallel to a center axis of the inner drum. The locking mechanism locks and locates the inner drum. The output end of the driving component performs the reciprocating motion, so that the blocking component is pushed out to open the drainage hole/is reset to close the drainage hole. According to the control method of the washing machine of the present invention, the water level in the water collection device is monitored in the drainage process to avoid drainage abnormality of the water collection device.
