Abstract:

A washing machine and a method for controlling the washing machine are provided. The washing machine can comprise: a washing tub; and a control unit for determining whether the laundry put into the washing tub is wet clothes or dry clothes, and determining the weight of the laundry inside the washing tub by using the detection of the weight of the wet clothes or the weight of the dry clothes on the basis of the determination result. In addition, the washing machine can also comprise: the washing tub; and the control unit for determining the level of washing water inside the washing tub, detecting the weight of the wet clothes and/or the weight of the dry clothes according to the water level, and controlling washing to be performed according to the detection result of the weight of the wet clothes and/or the weight of the dry clothes.
