Abstract:
A washing machine can prevent water in an inner tub from leaking out of an outer tub, so that the volume of the inner tub can be effectively used. The washing machine (1) of the present invention comprises: a sealing member water seal portion (34), having a sealing member (35) provided between the upper end of an outer tub (3) and the upper end of an inner tub (4), so as to prevent water from leaking out of the outer tub (3); a labyrinth portion (8), which is of a labyrinth structure, wherein ribs (81, 82) lower than the sealing member water seal portion (34) are provided on the inner side of the sealing member water seal portion (34) and between an outer tub housing (32) and the upper end of the inner tub (4); and a washing tank (7), which is a heightened tub integrally formed with the outer tub housing (32) and used for retaining water at a level higher than the upper end of the inner tub (4).
