Abstract:
A washing machine according to the present disclosure is provided with: a housing; an outer tank that is elastically supported inside the housing; an inner tank that is included in the outer tank and is rotatably disposed therein; a water supply part that supplies water into the outer tank; a water level detection part that detects the water level in the outer tank; a draining part that drains water in the outer tank; a foam detection part provided with a pair of electrodes comprising a first electrode and a second electrode; and a control unit that controls a washing operation comprising at least one of washing, rinsing, and dehydration. If resistance between the pair of electrodes has become less than a predetermined value by the time when the water level reaches a predetermined water level, the control unit determines that short circuit has occurred between the pair of electrodes.
