Abstract:

A washing machine, in which water consumption is not easily increased and the washing time is not easily extended even if laundry is unbound. A fully automatic washing machine (1) is provided with: an outer tub (20) elastically supported in a box body (10); a washing and dewatering tub (22) rotatably arranged in the outer tub (20); a wave wheel (24) rotatably arranged in the washing and dewatering tub (22); a driving unit (30) driving the washing and dewatering tub (22) and the wave wheel (24); a control unit controlling the driving unit (30); and a first detection unit (70) for detecting the magnitude of sloshing of the outer tub (20) when the washing and dewatering tub (22) rotates in the outer tub (20) that stores water. The control unit makes the washing and dewatering tub (22) rotate by means of the driving unit (30) in a state in which water is stored in the outer tub (20) before draining water from the outer tub (20) and starting dewatering, and makes the wave wheel (24) rotate by means of the driving unit (30) in circumstances in which it is determined according to the detection result of the first detection unit (70) that the amount of eccentricity of the laundry in the washing and dewatering tub (22) is large.
