Abstract:
A water softening device equipped with: a water softening tank in which raw water containing a hardness component is softened with a weakly-acidic cation exchange resin; an electrolysis tank in which alkaline electrolyzed water and acidic electrolyzed water for reproducing the weakly-acidic cation exchange resin are produced; and a treatment tank in which the acidic electrolyzed water produced in the electrolysis tank is allowed to flow through the water softening tank to reproduce the weakly-acidic cation exchange resin and, after the reproduction of the weakly-acidic cation exchange resin, the acidic electrolyzed water containing the hardness component is mixed with the alkaline electrolyzed water produced in the electrolysis tank to cause the reaction with the hardness component. The water softening device is so configured that the acidic electrolyzed water produced in the electrolysis tank is allowed to flow through the treatment tank after the reproduction of the weakly-acidic cation exchange resin so as to circulate the acidic electrolyzed water between the treatment tank and the electrolysis tank, thereby washing the water softening device.
