Abstract:

This waterproof jack (1) comprises: a substantially cylindrical main body (2) having a plug insertion hole (21); a sealing portion (22) for sealing the end portion of the main body (2) on the electronic apparatus case side; a terminal (3) held by the main body (2) so as to be able to establish contact with a plug inserted into the plug insertion hole (21), the terminal (3) being drawn out on the electronic apparatus case side through the sealing portion (22); and a circular sealing material (4) provided on the outer periphery of the main body (2) at an intermediary position in the length direction thereof and capable of being in tight contact with the inner peripheral surface of the mounting hole (11) of the electronic apparatus case. The waterproof jack (1) has a forward portion (25), which is a portion of the main body (2) that is more to the plug insertion side than the sealing material (4), and a rear portion (26), which is a portion of the main body (2) that is more to the electronic apparatus case side than the sealing material (4), each formed in such a manner that the entirety thereof is positioned more inward than the position of the tip of the circular sealing material (4). The waterproof jack (1) can be mounted in the mounting hole of the case both in a direction oriented from the outside of the electronic apparatus case to the inside and in a direction oriented from the inside to the outside; thus, the waterproof jack (1) is excellent for general purpose use and can elevate the degree of freedom in a mounting process or an electronic apparatus assembling process.
